falcon-reach hold
History
The origins of the hold go back beyond reckoning, but one story from the beginning has made it through the ages: how the hold got its name. It starts, as stories of the Avvar often do, in winter. The clan had prepared for winter as best they could, but it was not enough. Hunters made the proper offerings to the gods before heading out, but brought back meager bits of meat. One day, a falconer sent out his bird in the hopes of bringing down some birds to roast on the fire, but he was amazed to see the falcon circling the same rock face before swooping down low towards the falconer and then back up. Curious, the man climbed up the cliff to find a flat expanse hidden among the jagged rocks of the Frostbacks, and there were rams huddled together for warmth.

Without the proper hunting gear, he returned to the hold to speak of the game his bird had led him to. Hunters went out and the man and his falcon showed them where the animals were. It took some skill with nets and ropes tied around trees to lower their kills back down from the cliff, but the clan was saved that winter by the falcon and in honor of him, the hold named itself Falcon-Reach Hold.
Location
The hold is located in the northern Frostback Mountains between Ferelden and Orlais, about two days ride from Orzammar or Halamshiral, and two and a half day's ride to Jader.
people
Thane: Olaf Axe-Blood. So named because in one battle he became so covered in blood, people couldn't tell where the axe ended and his arm began.

Augur: Dagmar Muiredotten. A woman in her late sixties, she is calm, with a quiet, gentle voice. Yet when the gods speak through her, her voice can shake the mountainside.

Sky Watcher: Stellan Folkesen. A shaman dedicated to the Lady of the Skies who reads her portents and performs funerary rites for the dead to then offer their bodies to the Lady.

Skald: Elsa Sonjadotten. The writer and performer of great tales of the hold, as well as the common favorites known among all Avvar.

Master of the Hunt Thorvald Vargsen. He's the chief hunter of the hold, training his son to hopefully take his place one day.

Trader: Lars Arnorsen. Their chief trader who travels to cities in Orlais as well as Orzammar.

Trainer: Sunniva Ylvadotten. She trains young warriors in the hold's arena.
