[ This really shouldn't have come as a surprise. It had been stupidly optimistic of her to think she'd be left alone by the vampires after what had happened to her. But Christine had wanted to go on living her life because she had plans, and goals, and things the way she'd wanted them to be. She'd stubbornly held onto the belief that she could still be normal and not have to turn her life upside down.
But all she'd done was paint a target on her back. This medical conference is a big place with lots of halls set aside for different lectures and meetings, but there are still spaces where a person can find themselves isolated. Since this set of mens' and womens' restrooms aren't the only on this floor, Christine finds herself alone in the hallway as she exits, already pulling a bottle of hand sanitizer from her pocket since she had to pull the door open to exit and that thing must be crawling with germs. Before she can flip back the lid, a set of arms close down firmly around her midsection, locking her elbows to her side.
"Don't scream, Sunshine, or I'll make you regret it." a voice whispers in her ear. Which, frankly, screw that. ]
Get off me!
[ Christine struggles against the grip, wriggling and jerking her body, as the man merely sighs like she's an inconvenience. "You're coming with me so we can figure out how to get that damn magic back out of you." Oh, well damn. Christine feels like a moron for letting her guard down like this. Of course they'd come for her eventually. And of course he's holding down her arms so she can't use that damn magic on him. So instead she slams her head back against his several times, trying to stun him. It doesn't really seem to have an effect. Should she be surprised that a vampire is super resilient? ]
Let me go!
[ "I'll bite you if you don't shut up, princess!" Well, if her choices are between being bitten and taken to an undisclosed location for God knows what, she'll take her chances with the former. He has to manage to clamp down on her first, and she isn't making it easy by flailing her entire body as thoroughly as she can while shouting. ]

The light stuns him at first. Spots dance in his vision as she stumbles back away from the vampire. From there, everything seems to happen so quickly. The vampire screeches in pain and the smell of burning flesh fills Carle's senses. The smell soon gives was to pure ash as the vampire crumbles before his very eyes. ]
Shit...
[ Carle echoes the woman's statement, but he sounds more impressed than anything else.
Still, they've made a lot of noise and Carle can already hear people running in their direction. His gaze darts between the pile of ash, the woman, and their surroundings. Making a decision he rushes to the closest emergency exit and signals for her to follow him. ]
I don't know about you, but I do not think hanging around here for much longer is a good idea

Okay, I know that was super messed up, but you saved me and I'm trying not to have a panic attack so let's just go somewhere safe.
[ More than likely she'll suppress the hell out of her feelings so she can remain calm under pressure, but she literally just killed someone and that scream is still echoing in her brain. ]

I suggest we get out of the building altogether for now.
[ Once she's through the door he hastily makes his way down the stairs. He's not tapping into any supernatural speed for her sake. He can tell that she's already on edge, and with good reason. He doesn't want to freak her out even more or leave her behind for that matter. He's curious now. She'd done something he's never seen before and he has plenty of questions for her once they were safe. ]

He didn't injure you, did he? Sorry; I should've thought to ask earlier.

I'm fine. I'm pretty...durable.
[ He's never been one to come right out and tell strangers what he was, and it didn't seem the right time anyway. She had just been attacked by something supernatural after all. How would she react to being helped out by another? ]
What about you though? He threw you pretty hard back there.

No concussion.
[ She keeps an eye on their surroundings, just in case. ]
I'll be okay. But um, that thing I did? That's why he was after me.

Let me know if you start experiencing symptons.
[ Of course her mention of, well, whatever it was that she'd done back there he switches gears. ]
Personally, I'd think vampires would want to stay as far away from you as possible after what you did. But it sounds like there's a story there.

[ She purses her lips as they come to a street corner, knowing she'll have to explain herself but not really knowing how to start. She's never had to tell anyone before. The people who knew about it had either been there with her, or were vampires who figured it out later, since she had incinerated the vampires that had been there. ]
I kinda don't wanna talk about it in public. Like I can't sit down in a Starbucks and say it.
[ She looks up and down the street. ]
Isn't there a park somewhere around here?

[ As they make their way towards the park Carle tries to find his own explanation of what he saw a few moments ago. Nothing falls into place. Even with his own supernatural nature, he's never seen anything like what she did. ]
I'm Carle, by the way. Carle Talbot.

[ One really can't do introductions in the middle of a supernatural fight sequence. ]
I'm a nurse. An OR nurse. You?
